Propane Regulator question!

I am in the process of building a forge right now, and I came across a small uncertainty. I built my burner using Indian George’s tutorial. It said that I needed a regulator so I went to Low's and bought a Char-Broil Regulator. It seems to be normally used for barbeque pits. I don't know if this is going to be good enough so I came here to ask yall. What do you think? Do I need a special Regulator?

Take it back. You need a tank regulator (preferably with a pressure gague) .Get one at the propane dealer or the welding supply. It should go to 30PSI.

I got one from MSC on my tutorial listed. Don't look for the cheap way out. Gas isn't something that you want to fool with.

Yeah I think those BBQ grill regs are only 5 or 10 PSI anyway.
Frank: Are you at the Yuma Air Station?? The forges that I build you can weld at 4 to 5 psi. But this is using a adjustable regulator.

No, I am at Yuma Proving Grounds, but about 25 mi from there. I guess that would be good enough with blowers huh. I am not very well versed in the forge business. Is that with a blower or Venturi?

A blower forge is one with some type of squirrel cage blower on it. My oldest son was stationed in Yuma for some time and spent six years in the Marines.

Guys, I am pretty sure that BBQ type regulators are typically .5 - 1 psi, the normal manifold pressure used for home appliances.
