Any of you slipjoint fenatics in here got any pictures of knives with propoellar shields on them ? I'd sure appreciate some pictures for a reference.I have a custom on order,I'm trying figure out if I would want one.

I really like them, think they're kinda cool, but I'm not sure for this paticular knife.
Thanks in advance,
-Vince

The first (left) knife in each pic has a propeller shield variation, Vince.

If there is a round circle in the center, I think of it as a "Propeller", whereas the pearl knife here is a fancy "Banner", IMO.

Propeller shields seem to be traditional/common on Teardrop Jacks, Vince. You'll find a bunch of them in that thread.

Durwood,I like to mix it up.This particular knife...Is from John Howser of Kentucky.
It just about a 4" closed knife, more or less I'm not quite exact on.The handle is somewhat of a backpocket style. But the blade is a very unique modified warny, almost has a "yachtsman" (spell it like that ??) look to it
Well,I ordered it with front & rear bolsters, and some really great looking antique German bone that John has.
He says, his propellar shield has a bit of a raised detail in the center, like a pin hieght. He'll set it just forward center
Now that Charlie Waynorth has steered me over to those teardrops,I can see, that with the large bolster to the rear ,larger than the front, unlike an equal end,and set just forward of center,I can picture it.

I think it will look very much unlike,a lot of knives you see.

I really like propeller shields. Left to right: Ulster, Maher & Grosh, Empire, Southington, Maher & Grosh

The shields look good on wood. The placement was well thought out as well; Nice ones, Lambertiana!!

I know this is a little late, but I wast just taking a picture of this one, so here is a newer Case pen knife with a scaled down version of a propeller shield.....

Smaller knife...smaller shield, I guess. :)
