Hi Guys,
Sometime in the past, I heard a statement that when horn becomes damp from rain, sweat, ect., the texture of it becomes slightly tacky, improving grip. Have any of y'all found this to be so?

Seems that way to me...lots of natural materials may have this quality. Not so much tacky, but the pores swell...

OK thanks, Nasty. Been reading the archives & studying what my next Kuk should be.

Uplander you can also use some Scotch-Brite or 0000 steel wool to take the shine off the horn, which also seems to help at least in my experience.
