Proposal for a New Forum: Knife Law

I'd like to see a new forum get created here that's simply called "Knife Law". It could cover a lot of things related to knife laws and court cases. People could discuss: state and local laws, laws in various countries, concealed carry laws, definitions of dirk and dagger, LEO's attitudes towards knife carry, self-defense laws, etc.

Currently, knife law stuff is dicussed in several different forums, and it would be nice to have those types of threads in one place.

Plus, people aren't sure where to go to talk about knife laws. Some knife related topics are discussed in the Political Arena, but that forum is more for general political debates. Knife law stuff also gets discussed in the AKTI forum, but it's not clear if the forum was meant for that and some people don't visit it because they aren't Americans. The Knives, News and Your Views forum seems to be dead, so law topics mainly get started in the Blade Discussion forum. That forum is pretty crowded though and a separate law forum might help make it less cluttered.

I can't really think of any cons to the idea, except that it would mean more work for Spark.

A Knife Law forum probably wouldn't get a lot traffic, but there are several fora that don't see many posts, so I don't think that's a big negative.

When you think about it, it seems kind of surprising that we don't already have a forum for knife laws. But I don't know, I'm just throwing the idea out there. Any opinions?
 
Sounds OK to me so far. Let me sleep on it. It would be cool if Bernard Levine hosted it, if he is up to the task. One thing is he could copy and paste current knife laws into the forum so it woulod then be searchable.

I think it would be an excellent idea. I would volunteer to moderat if Mr. Levine can't. I have been a full time LEO for 8 years. I am also preparing for a possible entry into law school.

I too think that this would be a excellant idea for a forum. I am always searching the different forums for knife law discussions.
It seems to me that there are many others who are doing the same since I notice this subject being posted in many different forums.
I hope that there is a positive response from everyone who reads this thread since knife law is (and should be) a very important subject to anyone who carries a knife in today's upside down society.

Mike, if not a Knife Law Forum, maybe a section in the FAQ's. I support the idea of a Forum, but as a second choice the FAQ's are better than nothing. I also think shootist16(Dennis Bible) would be a great choice.

I certainly agree that Dennis Bible will make an excellent moderator and it would be very cool if we could post some of the state law info that Mr. Levine has collected.
