Airport security in the US frowns on folding pocket knives with serrated blades. Conversely, airport security in Europe frowns on locking folders. What a pain in the neck.
In light of this descrepancy, why shouldn't Spyderco make a folder along more old-fashioned or traditional lines? I'm thinking about a three-bladed Stockman-style knife or a two-bladed Barlow-style knife. Other vendors offer pocket knives in these traditional styles in addition to their trademark models.
When I pull out my Dragonfly to cut apart a box in the office, I may get a raised eyebrow (I hate that). When I pull out my Schrade 34OT Middleman Stockman, no one gives it a second look because it looks like the knife everyone's grandfather carried.
What do you folks think?
