Proposal for new model

Airport security in the US frowns on folding pocket knives with serrated blades. Conversely, airport security in Europe frowns on locking folders. What a pain in the neck.

In light of this descrepancy, why shouldn't Spyderco make a folder along more old-fashioned or traditional lines? I'm thinking about a three-bladed Stockman-style knife or a two-bladed Barlow-style knife. Other vendors offer pocket knives in these traditional styles in addition to their trademark models.

When I pull out my Dragonfly to cut apart a box in the office, I may get a raised eyebrow (I hate that). When I pull out my Schrade 34OT Middleman Stockman, no one gives it a second look because it looks like the knife everyone's grandfather carried.

What do you folks think?

As far as I know, Spyderco is already working on a slip-joint folder aimed at the British/EU market. I think it will have a sub- 2" blade, but I doubt it will be the traditional style, at least due to the blade hole, and probably a pocket clip. I don't know what they have planned for the scale material.

Sorry to butt in, but I always thought the original Jess Horn model, (except for the price) was traditional enough, while still retaining the convience of clip, and OH opening.
