...I know that this knife is still being either worked on or talked about as per the latest Newsletter...but I seem to recall that someone in this forum has a Stag scaled and finger-grooved 500 Duke sitting in his/her collection. So who's got it so's I can see what I may be orderin' ??... :D

Not a great picture, but here's one.

Is it just me or is the Duke 500 a little on the small side to make finger grooves worth their while? Also, I'd love to see them use S30V rather than 154CM. Just my opinion. I've heard it said that the 154CM is prone to chipping and the blade profile of the 500 is a little on the slender side. Also Darryl, the newsletter said that the 500 special would have honey worm grooved bone without pins.

...I saw that too Mike, but I remembered someone had a Stag version with FG in the forum group. I didn't think the odds were too good to see one with worm grooved bone and FG ...LOL...On lookin' at my 500's the blades seem to be quite "beefie" actually...The older profiles on the micarta versions do seem a bit more slender though...as for the finger grooves I do tend to agree with you...

i have seen honny worm goved bone and it is pirty!!
i would rather have a 110 worm groved ...
had 500 and they are not the same ...nice knife jest not the same...

Hi Mike and Darryls,
I think the Duke is just right for finger groves!!! The knife is about the same size length wise as a 112. The 112's look fine with finger groves....to me at least. But, I love the Duke 500 so I maybe bias....just a little. Here is an old pic of a 500/112 side by side.

I agree with jb4570,and his picture shows just how close in size the 112 and 500 are to each other. hkingdom's pictures show there's no need for a nail nick becuase there's plenty of exposed blade to grab, when the frame is finger-grooved. Honey worm groove bone, I just look at my Club fundraiser 110 from a couple of years ago, I'm sold on that.
