Of all the bit drivers that can be found on the Leatherman New Wave, Charge, the LM adapter, and the Victorinox bit wrenches, which ones use proprietary bits? And which ones can take standard screw bits that can be found at a hardware store?

I think leatherman has thier own bits, those semi flat kind. Gerber bit drivers use standard bits. I havnt had any experience with victorinox

the only one that i know of that is proprietary is the bit found in the LM wave, charge, and surge tools. I think all the other ones (including both kinds of LM adapter) just take the 1/4 bits. The wave/charge/surge bits are pretty much the same thing but with the sides cut off the bit to make it thinner.

True. I know a few enterprising souls have even ground down regular 1/4" bits to fit the Wave/Charge/Surge bit holder. Seems like a LOT of grinding to me, but if you regularly need a unique bit, I guess it's worth it!
