I was hoping you guys could give me some of you personal preferences on some knives I'm considering. Right now i have a manix 2xl( which is about to go up for sale) and i have the all black tenacious, so any pictures of those knives next too the knives on my list would be awesome.Looking to get 3-4 inch blade, either liner lock or frame lock.
considerations
military in either g10 or ti
gayle bradley air
starmate
bum lum tanto( if one comes up)
sage 2 ti
This knife is gonna be an edc, I'm in the military but it currently wont be seeing a ton of "hard use". Thanks for any input.

If you want a Liner lock - Spyderco Military G10
If you want a Frame lock - Spyderco Military Ti

I have the G10 Military and it is the best knife I have ever owned (better than my customs, Sebenzas and Striders). I have a Ti frame lock Military on the way but for the ultimate edc and weight ratio you cannot be the G10 Military.

the Sage 2 is an absolutely excellent choice for EDC.
It's small but packs a lot of knife in a small package.
s30v is the perfect EDC steel in my opinion.
Ti frame locks have become my favorite.

I would pick one up. If you want something a little bigger, pick up the Military in ti.

The Gayle Bradley Air is a great EDC and slices like no other. It doesn't have a clip which is a killer for some. I carry in a small leather slip case and it works great. I love this little knife and the M4 can't be beat. The Ti Liner Lock is great and the Silver Twill scales are beautiful.

It's a great little knife as well.

For overall EDC though, I would get the Sage 2.

I can only compare the military to tenacious out of those choices.

military is center, tenacious is directly to the right.

you can not beat the military design in my opinion. Best knife from a pure use stand point.

In case you were wondering, the other knives are:
two mules on the top
Centofante 4 and large Wayne Goddard on the left (both discontinued)
frn native on the right.

I'm not a member of the "Spyderco nation", but I'll answer anyway.

You can't beat the G10 Military at 4.25 oz with a 4" blade. You don't need the heavier Ti version on this knife.
If you want to go smaller the Sage 2 you mention is a good one.

There is a lot of variety here.

The GB Air is a genteman's folder, if you need to carry something real small. The Sage 2 always looked good to me but is also smaller than what I like to care.

The Starmate and Military are similar in blade length but I think the Military has a larger handle. I like the Starmate blade style better than the Mil but I would like to have a Mil also. Either might be a little too big for some people to carry.

Nobody has mentioned the Para2, it is a good size for EDC for most people and would be legal in some places that the Mil would not be. I like the Manix also and to me it seems somewhat interchangeable with the Para2.

Thanks for input guys. As far as the para and others thats because i wanted to stick with a liner lock or frame lock. I have manix 2xl now and i dont like the locking system as much as i had hoped. I just purchased another large ti framed knife so i will probably go with one of the smaller framed spydercos as my edc.

With your GB have you found it too be a pain in the butt too access the lock? Im just one of those people who hate buying a knife ive never handled before.

I've gotten used to the lock, if you enjoy to sit around and flick the knife open/closed you'll get a callus on your thumb quickly as I did but over time its not an issue. It can be accessed with gloves without an issue.

X2 on the Gayle Bradley idea. I have no issue with the liner lock on mine. You should think twice about the Para 2. I was a frame /liner lock only until I took a chance on the Para2. The compression lock is very easy to operate one handed and the blade just falls back in the handle with only a slight wrist twist. It is one fine knife. I would say I prefer it over some linner locks.

There's a lot of work horse style reviews for the GB, Mine has field dressed/quartered a deer, cuts zipties, 22-12ga wiring, rope, wood, various plastics and rubber hoses.

If you go with either the Gayle Bradley or Military, you won't be disappointed. I prefer the Gayle Bradley, as it's thinner at the edge and holds an edge longer than the stock Military. Both are great knives!

Best (and only) Spydie I own: Caly3 sprint run (still available), and the blade IS usable, if you coat it with Nano or car wax.
