Well I was reading the old handle materials thread and it got me thinking. What are the pros and cons of various blade shapes? I know that generally a kukri will chop better, a tanto will stab better, and stuff like that. But what about the details? What's the big difference between a drop point and a clip point? What are the advantages of wharncliffe and sheepsfoot style blades?
I'm still new to being a knife knut, so I'm sorry if this is common knowledge that I missed out on. Also, I listed quite a few questions that I have, but feel free to expand into any other blade shapes I didn't mention (I probably haven't heard of them, so any branching out is appreciated.)
Thanks all!
