I personally love the Malibu's design but like many I have ran into a bit of lock stick. This method worked for me and may not for you but I felt I should blab about it somewhere.

A mechanical eraser. Like this

I know, weird right? So I'm a artist and I had this laying around. I used the fine tipped one to "erase" all the junk around the locking mechanism and all that jazz in there.

And boom, wayyy less lock stick. That's why I call this the "semi-solution" because, well, it's not entirely gone, but it did help a lot. And maybe it will for you.

Just a thought!

Happy Flipping.

I used a Pink Pearl eraser (all I had available) to rid myself of lock stick on a new Medford Der Hund.

It really works.
