So much for suspending your food sack in bear country.

Cirque du Soleil.....:) Do you have a photo of the bear riding a trike too ?

- regards

The bears in the sierras are adept at getting food that is hung. I backpack in areas where the canisters are required, so I always carry one.

note: im sure theres a video of a bear doing it somewhere

Yes, there's a famous bear back East that has learned how to squeeze the lock and unscrew the top on one of the popular models. Hopefully it won't train too many cubs.

Thanks!

I've always wanted the hi-tech Bearikade container, which I believe lambertiana was also thinking of springing for.

Heh. Pics look to be a bit Photoshopped, but there are some areas where the bears have learned how to pull down food hung in bear bags. Or at least so I hear, I've never encountered a problem. The only place I ever hiked the required bear cannisters was Denali Nat'l Park, and that was mainly becuase most areas of the park are tundra with no suitable trees to hang a bag from, anyway.

WOW, those are some talented bears! I've seen more than a few bears in Lake Tahoe and never anything similar to that. Great pics, thanks for sharing!!!

That bear probably sat on the deck looking though the patio doors watching Mission Impossible before he learned how to break into the bird feeder.

Those pics do look somewhat photoshopped. But they remind me of a very similar sequence of shots I saw some years ago that weren't photoshopped, only the bear in question was a cub. I know I saved it somewhere. I'll have to find it.
