Sorry if this is gonna be a duplicated post or covered elsewhere.
I did quite a bit of search here but somehow I did NOT find an answer.

I just purchased a Spyderco Bradley folder, meant to be used as an EDC and food prep knive.
I do own Marine Tuf-Cloth, a silicon impregnated cloth, Militech-1 "oil" and Militech-1 Grease.
Food prep requires the blade to be treated with silicon impregnated cloth, ok.

Yet I'm lost on which product to use to keep protected the area that includes and sorrounds the pivot, blade area included.
Gayle Bradley himself suggested me to use silicon spray, but here in Italy every one spray I spotted declares "Toxic" in the warnings. Some are even chrorinated.
Lubrication is NOT the main concern. Rust protection is.

Thus, limiting to the products I own, with outsiders as vaselline oil and mineral oil AND mention being made about the fact that the point to be protected is hardly reachable by a cloth, what would it be your advice?

Thanks in advance

I would probably use tuf-glide, though I guess if you use grease, not much moisture will gather there. Either way, you're not cutting with the pivot, so I wouldn't worry too much about getting oil in your food.

(If you only have a tuf-cloth, you'd have to remove the blade, though)

There is food grade silicone. If you want to use what you have on hand. The GB is easy to take apart, So you could treat the pivot area with the tuf cloth every once in a while.

Thanks Mr. Deus and blame it on god :)
So it is a no go for either product mentioned made by Militech and for vaselline oil.
Unfortunately I have difficult access to Tuf-Glide in Italy. In other words it would cost me more the shipping alone :(
