Happy new year all !
I just moved to FL.
Outside of oil do you use anything to protect your knives?
Anyone know anything about Tuf Cloth?

Thanks for your input!

Luckily I live in a semi desert (ca) and haven't seen rust issues.

But my father snorkels and he uses tug cloths type stuff on his dive stuff.

I swaer by Eezox® Premium Knife Care or Break Free CLP.
And my experience (and most of the ~20 tests/reviews I watched/read) agree with me.

I keep hearing good things about Rem(ington) Oil too, especially when treating more complex folding knife mechanisms (e.g. ball-bearings in Flippers) because of the added Teflon, no personal experience with it though.

Some folks recommend Rem Oil, Renaissance Wax, Tuf Cloth Marine, Fluid Film is also amazing.

I stopped using Tuf-Cloth because it isn't food safe and I do from time to time use my knives on food. I now use Frog Lube which is food safe and have not had any issues. I use Nano-Oil for the pivot or other internal components.

I've used Marine Tuf-Cloth for years on knives and carbon steel swords. It's always worked for me and I live in humid Florida
I also use their products on all of my pistols.

I use Marine Tuf-Cloth on my non-food knives, mineral oil on anything that might come in contact with food. You can get it at CVS. You will need to do it frequently, it's a dry day when relative humidity is below 70%.

I've used Marine Tuf-cloth as my only protectant on all my knives for the past 18+ years. I even use it on my EDC that gets used for cutting food fairly often. I live in the jungles of northern Thailand, and humidity is a constant concern.
Never had a problem with knives rusting. The only knives I do NOT use it on are my two dive knives. I use a coating of silicon grease for them.
