hi! Im new to the forum.
I recently got a 5000 prototype for what I think was a good deal, and I am curious what it's worth. I'm a huge BM fan so I know this knife is not an actual production "prototype", but a desigN prototype (one and only). It has a slider safety and the closing won't work unless the lock is dis-engaged.

I'm curious what it's worth to a collector, so I know what I have here.

How do you know it's a 'one and only'. There are a few non-production prototypes out there (I have one myself) but they are few and far between.

What makes yours different from the production models?

Pictures would help a great deal.

MOST BM protos arent worth much if any of a premium over the std models.
Because BM manufactures far too many "prototypes", and "First production runs" per model as to water their value down to nill.

I would venture a guess that a regular production 5000 [ auto?] is worth $115-135 and the prototype is worth $117-137.

But I don't collect Benchmades....................................:D
