Anyone know how many of these were made? I love Benchmades aluminum so when I first saw this model a few years back I knew I had to have one. Just got it in the mail today, love it.

Lucky person! That's in NIB condition looks like. The 710's with aluminum handle scales are Very hard to find. Does it also have the original blue box?

Can't offer an answer to how many were made..not many, I'd imagine .

Great find, beautiful knife..I love the subtle differences in grinds and recurve depths on the 710''s through the years..

Congrats on the find.

Reason I asked about the box is the value holds better with the complete package, paperwork and all.

I know of at least 4 of that particular knife...the one you have, the signed one I still have, a signed one at a local knife shop, and I saw another signed one for sale online a year or so ago. I've also seen different variations of prototypes with different dates on the blade...a g-10 version that became the production model, and an aluminum version with a big white butterfly logo on the scale, similar to what was on the Benchmade 720 at one time.
