I have had this design rattling around in my head for awhile but did not have a hatchet to try it on.
I received the Jens Anso Ax about a week ago with free rein to build a retention system that could be carried via Tek Lok or Molle Lok's.
The sheath has Level II retention, deploys quickly and can be carried reliably with the lock disengaged.
I would welcome any input or questions from any of you that have experience carrying
a hatchet.

Thanks Much in advance.

That looks good.

Tek lok looks like it would be a good attachment option...but what about attachment to a pack"

When I carry my larger hatchet/axe it is generally attached to my pack. It is an Estwing E44a campers axe 18" oal. so it is a bit uncomfortable off the belt.

On the belt the most comfortable hatchets have an overall length of around 14".

What is the oal of the Anso?

How is extraction of the axe accomplished?

It is Molle compatible if the pack has Molle loops.
How do you attach it to your pack?

Looks very nice! I am a fan of your designs.

Does the hatchet come straight up out of the top? Can it be worn inverted?

The two-tone looks great.

Yes it deploys upward until the head clears the sheath, I have been able to do it fairly quickly.
The above sheath I designed for upward deployment and though it may work well inverted (I am not sure) I wouldn't advise it.
I will be looking at designing an inverted model (head of the Ax just above the knee) at a later date.
