Is this a Prototype LMS or a Apprentice knife?

I would say proto.

While it lacks actual talon holes, it is struturally intact.

Apprentice knives are not. The front talon "protrusion" is normally ground off on apprentice blades.

Nice find.

Yes it is, I was wondering if it was advertised correctly.

I have a black one with a profile similar to that of a Basic 3 which still has the talon nub area still intact. I was told it was an apprentice knife, although I can't remember the steel it was made out of although it was different than what Busse blades were ever made from.

When I stumbled across it, I was excited since it, too, was 3/16", and I was hoping that it was a proto for a new knife in that size and shape. No such luck though, although my AD has me pretty happy in that department now.
