prototype paramilitary?

Just received in trade a PE Paramilitary. Its quality is top notch, just like
its companion Paramilitary I already had :D

But, the clip is different. The one I bought last month has a black painted clip, but this one has a chrome/silver clip, with all sorts of "...Patent pending..." stuff inscribed on the clip. Not a problem at all -- but I'm wondering if that's an indication that maybe this was one of the first Paramilitarys out of the chute? Like a proto, or,,...?

Any of you Spydie fans have any info on that? Thanks!
 
Sounds like a replacement clip someone used instead of the old one. Maybe they snagged the original and broke or bent it. Show us a pic.
 
could be a clip from a Military or someone took out the coating of it...
and the patent pending thing is normal.
