Prototype sold?

I considered it after he lowered the price $25. I was thinkin' "how hard would it be for anyone to have Chuck's name engraved on any old knife". While I was pondering that, it sold.

hummm... an odd one.. MHO
looks like he was trying to get buck to partner with him like some of the other
knife makers..
and it was sent back..to the maker

worth a look see any way..
i would not have bid 40 for it..
now if Joe was the seller diff ball game..

Would you really want to buy a knife that was refused by Chuck Buck??? :p

It's an OK looking knife...I never heard of the maker, but that's not unusual...I seldom get out...maybe 334dave or one of the regular Blade Convention goers has heard of him...

On the 450 Proto...Not me, although I did put in a token bid...Just so I could add my endorsement to the styling and design... :D

Hey Chuck! If you build it...I'll buy one!!!

Not familiar to me but Dad does have a life outside my view. Not sure what it would have been a prototype for and anything we would have looked at or requested would have been quite a bit more expensive than that.

yep that was my first thought..

good taste is affordable with a buck though ;)
yea lota bids on that 450 but no sale at 26$

Seems like a rash of "prototypes" are hitting the Bay. I just saw this one. A prototype 385 toothpick.

"THIS IS A PROTOTYPE THAT WAS NEVER RELEASED TO THE MARKET"

The 450 with the paperstone handle looks like one of a bunch of odds and ends we have been playing with as we look at paperstone handled products. It is not any sort of collaboration with anyone. Not sure how the person obtained it, but I am guessing it was a "walk out" and given or sold to someone who is reselling it. A lot of people have worked on, touched the various samples. I know who the project people are on the paperstone products, since they work in my department; I don't think the seller is one of them.

...I liked that "prototype" as well. I have a couple of the 450's and I have always liked their blade configuration. It's a direct swap with the 112 blade and I have a 112/450 laying around somewhere. The blade is tougher in the tip area, just as the 442 blade is, than the standard 112 clip point's tip...
