I was looking at a 32 mini-morpho the box had a sticker that said prototype, but i did not see it marked on the knife.
How does Benchmade mark there prototypes?
Would that increase the value?

Thanks :)

Benchmade loves slapping writing all over the blade so yes if it was a prototype it would be marked as such on the right side. Being marked a prototype is doubtful to increase value...unless maybe the 32 were to gain a cult following like the 42 then subsequently be discontinued.

Prototypes in general have proven to be more valuable over time than a regular production.
It would be marked on the blade.

I think a proto would increase the value if it's new in box. Once it's used, it makes no difference.

I have a lonewolf minilandslide (made by BM) that's a prototype. It's got the prototype sticker on the box, as well as a lasermark on the back side of the blade, fairly good size, saying prototype and the month and year of manufacture. I don't know that in increases value or not, but I'm never selling mine.

A) if it isn't marked as such on the blade, yours is not a prototype (I have a 950 Rift prototype which is lasermarked on the blade -- or rather it was before I acid stonewashed it).
B) unless it's in NIB condition and a collector wants it for a safe queen, it isn't worth any more than a standard production. Once it's used, it's used.

I have a mini-morpho prototype and it is written as such on the blade.
