My 12 year old daughter announced a couple of weeks ago that she wanted to enter a couple of her artworks in the state fair so I went out and got some matting and frames. She entered a framed watercolor of morning glories and a framed pencil drawing of a tiger's face in the ages 9 - 13 competition.

She has inherited my wife's artistic talent - she sure didn't get it from me because I can't draw a straight line.

She won first place for the watercolor and second place for the pencil drawing. I'm so proud I could bust. I just had to brag on her. :D

There's still a chance she can show off what she's inherited from you ...

... 500,000 word Essay Competition for 14-16 year olds :D

Just kidding, congrats

Congrats. Hopefully she'll stick with it.

Congo-rats to you and your daughter. Post a pic of her drawing if you can.

Second that, I would love to see it.
Maybe someday she will become a famous artist ! :) So... sell me the one she won the prize with , just in case :D

Congratulations Mycroft! You have every right to be proud and so does she. :)

Wonderful! :D I've always admired people with artistic talent. Absolutely love it...

Congratulations. :)

pics, pics, pics!!!

Water colors can be a real pain to control well. You just can't paint over a mistake.

Congrats to the latest starving artist!!

Congrats, Mycroftt. I bet that makes you feel great!

And to make you feel really great, have you looked at tuitions for colleges specializing in the arts lately? Have a nice 5 years. :D
