After lurking around on the forum for a while, trying to choose between the bk7 and the bk2, with everyone's information I decided to go with the bk2. WOW what a stout knife. when I first held this knife it felt like i was holding a piece of a leaf spring off of a truck. I am happy I decided on the bk2. I'm also looking at getting a norton stone to put that razor edge on it, but due to inexperience I can't find it on the forum. so what are your thought's. I already have a medium grit dmt diamond stone.
I added this pouch. It will hold a otterbox 1000 water proof box with room to spare.

I also added felt to the push off for added comfort

I like that setup. Perfect for a day hike. And Congrats on receiving one of the best values out there.

You made a great choice bro! I am a big fan of the BK2 and I like the sheath mounted pouch....if you have a survival kit in there how about detailing the contents..I love seeing other people's sustenance/survival gear!

I am still working on contents. I have been camping for years but just got into the bushcraft side of it. right now all I have is a mag bar and some cotton things my wife use for her make up in a camel snus tin. I also saw a post about attaching cable clamps to the sheath to hold a fire rod. I want to change the scales out but not sure if I want to make some myself or just purchase some micarta one's

Welcome to the Becker forum and Bladeforums brother, you made a great choice.

I like that pouche setup, looks like you got some room for some good stuff.

May I recommend an emergency blanket, GoinGear Firesteel, jute twine, some cordage, couple of tea bags, and a few small pieces of fatwood.

That's what I have in one of my kits, and it seems to cover alot of bases.

Stick around, I wanna see how your kits turn out.

Kitchen sink could fit in that pouch! ;)

Great blade you got there bro!!

Use and abuse it!

What grit stone should i be using for the last sharpening. I want a sharp but durable edge

I am in the same school of thought as Ethan, Fisk, Johnson and others, is the Fine India Stone.

Its a medium fine grit that give you a good sharp edge, and has enough tooth for a good aggressive cut. Its what I use.

I've heard of those BK2s. I hear they're really good knives. I've never heard anything bad about them either. I've also heard if you can't do it with the BK2 then you're doing it wrong.

;) ;)

I like your set up on the sheath. Check out what I did with mine; I got the idea from some awesome feller here. I think is name is The Warrior ;)

I have seen that type of set up. Little diffrent than yours the webbing didn't go all the way down. I like that look though has a tactical look to it. I'm thinking about putting one of thoose aluminum t bars to support the belt loop.

Nice, I love that pouch. Now slap either one of those drop leg setups or a large TekLok on there to make it even more awesome!

ditto what moose said. i'll also add one of those $3 thumbnail-sized led light and a whistle. felt pad mod - "the fuzz" :D
