Howdy,
I'm a new member (posted on a few threads) and wanted to say what a great forum this is and that my Desert RC3 arrived yesterday!!
Y'all have already experienced the thrill of opening the plastic bag and taking the RAT out for the first time. The craftsmansip is outstanding! It exceeded my expectations and I spent most of the evening tinkering with it. Boot clip on and off, MOLLE clips on and off, making the 550 cord belt loops and generally just fondling my RAT!! :D
My next task is to figure out which 550 lanyard I want to attempt to tie on the pommel.

Regards,

What made you pick the RC-3? Did you go serrated or un-serrated?I almost went with the RC-3 but decided to go with the RC-4 because of the thicker blade. I'm not sure if that was the right choice for what I will use the knife for but it will be a good place to start a RAT cutlery collection :)

I chose a plain edge RC3 as my first RAT because I liked the blade size for light work and maybe EDC. I have a longer blade Randall M18 w/serrations, but wanted something a bit smaller.
Any suggestions on lanyards? I've not done much research, but like what you guys have done in two-tone with the beads and skulls. In the past I've put very simply ones on my Swiss Army and an Army jump auto knife. Thanks

Great choice! I will be getting an RC-3 for Christmas to take place as my edc blade. Right now I have the RC-4 and damn it is tough but I NEED a slicer. Now all you need is about one of every other blade that RAT makes and your set!

I'm in the same boat, so the Rat Pack RC-3 was perfect for me - I've got tons and tons of thick, tough, beater knives, so I wanted a slicer.... the RC-3 is a slicer that's also got a bit of tough in it too. Really great little blade.

I've also got the desert tan RC3P.Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.I have one prediction-you'll get more!!!
