I just found out this past week that my son had wanted to surprise me with a Perrin PPT that he had ordered from New Graham. Due to a mixup at NGK and a delay with UPS, the package arrived a week later and much to my surprise, the knife that was sent was a Persistence instead of the PPT. A definite surprise to say the least....
After making one call to Annie, the matter was resolved and my first Spydie in about a year is on its' way. Things have been a little rough for me since my divorce last year and haven't been able to buy knives as much as I'd like to with other responsibilities having first priority....my son wanted to change that a bit since he's been working since the beginning of his senior year of high school. My boy has a little collection of Spyders that I started him off with which includes the original Meerkat PE, Calypso Jr. PE, and a Para 2. After becoming familiar with gun shows, he has now expanded his collection to a Becker BK11, Becker EsKabar and a custom drop point knife that he bought from a dealer who was selling from his own collection.
I'm glad that he has come to understand the value of a great knife and the responsibility of carrying one. On July 24, 2012, he will be heading out to Air Force basic training to start his military career and I hope that he remembers all that his old man has taught him.
Thanks for taking time to read some words from a proud dad....
