I know this is a redirect, but I gotta do some braggin' on my boy!
We spent a week in NC with my parents at their new house and number one son had the itch to try knife making since grandpa is in the profession (GL Drew on these forums).
He hovered around the shop watching the process for a while and eventually picked up a scrap of steel and asked if he could "have it". The rest of the story is here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=493141
Ben spent most of the week in the shop with grandpa working on his knife, cutting out blanks for a show that weekend, helping to make scabbards, and generally playing shop boy. Both had a very memorable weekend working together and grandpa found a great way to be able to keep working in his shop even while company was visiting!
