With the exception of a few beater work knives, I'm proud to say my collection and edc has been overtaken by traditionals. Albeit a small assortment, I have a couple lt wright and bark river fixies I carry. My folders have become either a Case russlock in banana bone I inherited from my grandfather, a Case sodbuster, a GEC 83 in stag, or my newest, a Schatt n Morgan swell center moose in ebony! A year ago I hated traditionals, but slowly I saw the beauty in an aging piece of stag, or in the patina on a daily carry. Even traditional fixed blades seem to be less scary to the general public:thumbup:

I'm excited to own many more nice traditionals!:D

Here are the obligatory pics! I really can't wait til I have a little extra cash to get a yellow rose version of either a 73 or 83:)

Great photos Adam and likewise. I'm coming up on a year now where I started collection traditionals after dispersing of my modern collection a year before when I moved to NYC.
Thanks to all the awesome members here it's been a very pleasant and knowledgeable experience.

I have to say they didn't garner interest 2 years ago when I first saw youtube videos about traditionals coming up but as of now I can't get enough.

I recommend saving up for a custom sometime, you won't regret it~

I have 16 modern folders left, 1 automatic and 67 slipjoints. Four months ago this was reversed. I have sold all my high-end knives and my medium priced knives except a PM2 and an elmax Blur to buy slipjoints. Once the bug bites there's no turning back.

I have taken a similar path. It started about 2 years ago when I bought Case Mini Trappers for all my groomsmen. I figured slipjoints would simply be nice to carry in dress pants.

2 years later, my modern folder collection is reduced to a PM2, Rat 1, Blur and maybe a couple more sprinkled in tool boxes or vehicles. Work knives for when one handed opening is more practical or even necessary.

My GEC 72 has been in my pocket every day the past year. I don't buy any new knives really. My favourite way is at the local pawn shops and antique stores. I buy old knives there that don't open or are peppered with rust. Take them home and with a little elbow grease, I have a very nice knife to carry that cost me less than 10 dollars.
