Picked this micro LUDT up ordered online, arrived and had the same serial number as the one on DHgate.com, the guy I bought from doesn’t belive it’s a fake and I haven’t gotten a reply from micro tech. Nor do I find a number to call for them... the blade is screen printed not etched too btw. Wrong box also. Anyone have a number or can give some additional tips to prove this is a fake so I can get him to refund me. He obviously lost money on the deal since I belive he was scammed and doesn’t want to take a fake knife back that’s worthless IMO.

Where did you buy it and what payment system did you use? If it was on eBay, you need to open a case stating that the item received was not as advertised, and you'll get your money back. If you paid with a credit card or PayPal, there are chargeback systems you can use to get your money back.

Microtech is not going to help you here, because they are not at fault. If you send the knife to them, they'll destroy it on the spot.

Ha thanks fellas... used PayPal, I’m going to try and get some pics with a magnifying glass to show the unetched surface, he said if I can prove it he’d refund it. I don’t think he wants to belive!

If you paid friends and family your probably sol.

Ill look closer at the picture later but it's very possible that's a fake. I don't think there hardware has that type of finish on it.

Did you buy it from someone on Instagram the forum, Facebook or eBay?

If it's a fake he has to take the knife back and refund the monies. If you paid goods and services you have buyer protection. You may want to suggest you bought kitchen cutlery over a pocket knife. As I think there's a thread on them not covering 'weapons'

Absolutely looks fake. The edge bevel width is usually the most telling part of a fake, and it looks quite wide on this knife (indicating a thicker edge and less obtuse edge angle than Microtech usually grinds to).

I think its only a problem getting covered if you order an auto or something to a state where its restricted, then its a “weapon.”

Appreciate the input, the biggest factor for me was the serial number, and blade etch. I used Goods and services on PayPal. So hopefully he will “belive” and I won’t have to file a claim.

It was fake at the moment you said it had the same serial number as the one on dhgate . . . no need to look at the pics.

That's actually true. The original with that S/N is real, but the counterfeiters bought that one and used it as a template. Highly doubt they bought it, used it as a template, then resold it.
