I absolutely love hiking and finding old cars off of trails. A couple of the other members and I have gone on a few long backpacking trips around Fontana Dam and there is a trail where there are tons of old model T fords rotting out on the side. They make a great haven for yellowjacketes.

There are several cars located through the park...said it would harm the place more to try and pull them out so they left them there and built the park around them...close up they have names scratched/carved all over them like a typical park bench...

As a teen I worked summers at Fontana Village, depending on which trail your talking about, one of those Model Ts was left there by my grandfather. I used it for a cache, my frying pan might still be there. Small world I guess. Chris
