Here's a keychain version of the full sized tool. Thought you all might enjoy this pic. Please forgive the horrible shadowing, the finish is nice clean brushed steel but you'd never know it from the scan.

About 3 inches long 1/8" thick S30V with sharpened, chisel ground guthook/cutter. It's a champion pencil sharpener as a carpenter friend who bought one today quickly found out! :)

Thanks for the kind words guys! They are listed on my site already. The full sized versions will be on there as well in a day or two. I only made a few on this first run but hopefully many more will follow. I'm really psyched about these and the response they've been getting. Thanks for the ideas and encouragements! :)

Looks like you have found your Claim to Fame with this one Peter..
Really a cool idea,I also smell a colaberation with a big company coming your way..To Cool.

Peter, nice little tool. I hope you do well with them.
A bigger makers mark wouldn't be out of line and would give you a little more credit.

I got mine yesterday! It is very nice indeed! I had it in my pocket all day and I didn't feel it at all, it is very comfortable!

This is a stout tool and should last forever even with rough use! I think it will come in handy every day and pay for itself in time. Good work Peter!

One question, what would be the best way to sharpen the "gut hook"? Thanks!:)

Think so Bruce? That's depressing.....:( Could be true though.

Skag, thanks for the enthusiastic response! :) The best method for sharpening is to use a 3/8" ceramic hone to touch up the area, then buff the back of the tool with some compound. It will get like a razor. If it gets really trashed, a Dremel with the small drum sander fits perfectly. Follow that with a honing and the buff. Of course you have to take the handle slabs off first....but you knew that! :)

and I have one of these in the form of the standard prybaby coming in on a trade seems like a good logical addition to the standard form I'll have to be a little more careful around it but doesn't it cut every now and then:rolleyes:and it's always great to get info directly from the horses mouth.PS I actually looked over your site pretty carefully and couldn't find any information on this particular model maybe it's not up yet where has been removed I'm not sure I'll this thread was when I jumped onto it.

:(
I can't see the pics in this thread.
When I got the direct URLs the pics were down.
Nothing on the official site.
Nothing in the blog.
Anything from Mr. Atwood...That's new... and is generating this response = TORTURE.
Help Please, this is killing me.

P.S. Oh, and how wide is the cutting hook at its widest?
P.S. Again, I think I get it, the cutting hook is built into where the bottle opener is, perhaps?

Very cool stuff! Gonna have to pick up some stuff for X-mas presents! (And a little something for yours truly as well)

Thanks, is it listed on that site though? I checked it already, and followed each link on it.... Perhaps I just don't really know what I'm looking for.

Guys, this is the original thread from 4 years ago! I no longer make them with the belt cutter notch and haven't since the first two batches. Too much trouble and too many concerns with people cutting themselves and whatnot.

I thought this might be an old thread I dug it up on a web search for this item. How soon be the proud owner of such a case I try to get some kind of a slipcover for it if you have any suggestions about this,or obviously don't feel you need answer either these. It's possible collectors value if anybody really really want to picture this, I can e-mail them a pic but cant post it

sorry for the confusion Mr. Atwood it is very cold to get a response from you thu

and I learned one important thing it is a belt cutter that could come in handy in a sticky situation.
