Any info or steel comparisons? I can find zero info on it.

I see there are a few striders now with it...

Thanks in advance,

Steven

I think it's a sprayformed D2 variant. I would guess it would perform like a compromise between D2 and CPM-D2, but that's just a guess.

Sorry, it's actually PD #1 that's made by Carpenter (still similar to CPM-D2).

PSF27 is supplied by DanSpray. It has a different balance of carbides compared to D2 (similar) and has the addition of Nitrogen (in theory, this should increase corrosion resistance).

It's very good. Overall edge retention via toughness and wear resistance is better than 154CM, but with lower corrosion resistance.

In my experience wear resistance is about like S30V, but PSF27 has better toughness. Corrosion resistance is lower than S30V. Plastic range is also greater than S30V.

Toughness is greater than plain D2. Rough cutting is better with D2 if the edges are really thick. Fine edges are more easily obtained and kept with PSF27. Overall edge retention is better with PSF27 due to the greater toughness and finer grain.

Shh, stop talking about it...!!

This guy is in PSF27. Corrosion resistance is much better than regular D2. Takes a very fine edge. I've carried it for 22 months and 11 days... love it.
