I am soliciting recommendations for 2 player PS3 games that are easy enough for my 7 year old son and I to play together. The Lego games are pretty good but we already have a couple of those. Any ideas?

Well, being a teenager its not easy to think of games appropriate for kids. If you guys are into outdoors (hunting and fishing and stuff) Theres a game called Cabelas outdoor adventure thats really fun, and not hard at all. Also the Skate games are pretty fun. Unfortunatly I'm not a big gamer and the only game I really play is the hunting game and Grand Theft Auto 4, so I don't know many kid appropriate games.

Also when hes a little older Guitar hero is fun. Good for hand eye cordination. The only reason I say when hes a little older is because at 7 his hands may be a bit small for hitting the correct frets.

need for speed carbon-you race each other & customise the cars to the max with graphics & paint jobs etc etc-my 8 yo son loves that feature the most.
cheers.

You should get Little Big Planet. It''s a platformer like Super Mario. It's a lot of fun, I used to play it with my girlfriend. It has a level editor that is very complex, it's like a virtual lego set. There is an UP! game too that very easy and you could probably get it cheap. another good game for the young crowd is Mini-Ninjas. It's only one player but its really good. There demos for all these game on the PSN.

Well seeing as you have a PS3, you could always download games from the PSN.
PSN exclusive games like:
LocoRoco
Super Stardust HD
Shatter
Fat Princess
Astro Tripper
Digger HD
LUMINES Supernova
There are alot of really good choices.
Or you could go with the good old PS1 classics, like
Ape Escape
Cool Boarders
Crash Bandicoot
Parappa The Rapper
MedEvil
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 8
Again, there are plenty more that I cant think of at the moment. But that would be your best bet with the age of the children. You probably don't want anything to violent or gory. Plus they're a lot cheaper too. But as far as disk based games, I would say LittleBigPlanet is phenomenal. Especially for that age bracket.
Good luck, hope this helps!
