For some of you this won't matter at all, but for some it will. Politics are generally not allowed in the General Knife Discussion forum, but general information on knives is.
The other day I was looking at the new CRKT Seis model, designed by Richard Rogers. I noted that most retailers listed it as made in China, but that one or two listed it as made in Taiwan. I emailed CRKT's customer service and they confirmed that it is in fact made in Taiwan.
I asked CRKT if they had a list available showing the country of origin for each of their products, for those customers who cared about such things. They said they do not, but that they can provide information about specific models upon request.
After doing some more digging, I found other models listed by most retailers as made in China that are in fact made in Taiwan. Among them are the CEO Compact, the CEO Blackout (also Rogers designs), and the Fawkes. I believe there are likely several more.
A.G. Russell Knives always lists the country of origin for all knives it sells, and it appears that they have accurate information on the country of origin for each CRKT model they sell.
Moral of the story: If you care about country of origin, and you see a CRKT you like, it might be a good idea to check A.G. Russell's site for accurate info in that regard. If A.G. Russell doesn't list it, then you might email CRKT's customer service to get confirmation.
I don't buy many CRKTs anymore (I've become too much of a knife snob), but having owned many in the past, I have noted that the Taiwan-made ones tend to be better made than the China-made ones.
