Sanded and polished out the G10 on my Psark and Gunting! Pic sucks but what do you guys think? Also changed the point a little on my PSARK!:D

Holy crap what a couple of nice looking knives! what did you use to polish the G-10? I'm gonna do that even if I have to bust out the Dremel. nice mod on the P-SARK too. I thought about doing it but as it turns out i'm pretty happy with the shape so i'm gonna leave it

Thanks for the great comments guy!! Ithe scales off and just took with a 1" belt sander with a fine belt removed the factory bead blast and coved them a little so the rings would show up.Then used a 8" cotton wheel on a bench grinder with some red rouge to polish it!! They both are really shinny!! (pic does do justice):D
I'll try to get a better pic loaded later tonight!!

The rings show up better on the gunting because it has thicker handle
so I was able to cove it more:(

:)Great Job Todd !!!!
I've noticed that the PSARKs are getting alot of attention around here lately, maybe a new trend?

Being one of the loudest PSARK advocates around here, I was just thinking....just imagine:

Introducing The 2002 PSARK: True satin finish zero ground blade, thicker Ti liners and and scales (a la 98 Commander) and brushed Ti bolsters with file work.

I could only dream....

Guys,

I might not know what I am talking about, but I think if you do any grinding/cutting/polishing on G-10 you should wear a mask because you don't want the little fibers accumulating in your lungs. I know carbon fiber is VERY hazarduous this way, so who wants to risk it?

I guess Bandit or some of the other pros here will know better than I, but now is not the time for Suspects to be getting sick.

Having said that, I think I am going to dig out a mask and my Dremel and see what happens!

Scott475 is right guys!! If you are gonna sand on this stuff wear a dusk mask!! Thanks for all the great feed back guys!! The method of polishing the G10 also works great to remove the black coating on the blades as well as puts a scary sharp edge on chizel grinds!! Just create the burr with a diamond rod etc. and then hold it at the same angel on the buffing wheel, then almost flat on the other side where you normaly would strop it.;)
Take Care Suspects!!

Todd:

I took your advice about the 'polishing sharpening method'. I actually used my new Drememl tool polishing kit. I first used the the polishing wax to bring the edge to a high gloss finish. Once the secondary edge had all the previous 'sharpening scratches' off, I went back to my Spydie sharpmaker. A few minutes at the 30 degree angle on the ceramic rods and my 2000 Commander has a "Hair Popping" edge. I can't beleive how easy this was and am thouroghly impressed by the new edge!

Thanks for the info. :D

Cool RAYE!! I've been sharpening mine that way for a while now and it really beats the other methods I've tried. Glad it worked for you also! Now get you a cheap bench grinder and a cotton wheel(SEARS or LOWES WARDHARD has them for like $10) and then wire a light dimer switch to it so you can control the speed of it!!!!Works great!!!!!:D
