Hello there !

Since the last two days im considering putting a preorder on a Gayle Bradley bowie in psf27.
I understand it is 'just' D2 with a finer carbide structure and i'm well aware of the hype surrounding this steel, so i know i wont get laminated unicorn horn quenched in snake oil.

Anyone tested psf27 from another maker yet ? How good was it ?
What will be the target hardness aimed by Spyderco ?

I would have liked that knife in cpm m4 but considering i havent tested D2 yet i always wanted to so that's fine.

I like it. Check out the reviews on the spyderco.com forum. It's a nicely balanced steel. Good toughness, good edge holding, adequate corrosion resistance. Easy to touch up. Hard to reprofile without some serious stones. Use it every day. As far as hardness, I don't know. So far it's the best all around steel I've carried. Significantly better than regular D2.

Posted to show where I work, what I use it on, and how fine of an edge it can get.

Thanks bodog. That's really helpful as I'm pretty much set on getting the Bradley as my next fixed blade. The plan is to use it as a camp knife.

Thanks for the post. I have 2 DDR customs in progress in this steel.
