I have well over 100 Leatherman multitools, including thirty-some-odd PSTs. My favorites are the early versions and the Japanese-made examples. I check eBay frequently and usually rule out tools with the REG TM marking, however I stumbled upon one I had to buy this afternoon. While the rear handle is marked "US REG TM 1325473", the front handle is marked "US REG MT 1325473". I've never seen this marking before, and I assume it is a mistake. Has anyone else ever seen "MT" instead of "TM" on a PST? Maybe, when I receive it, I'll post some photos. T-A

I have never seen that before. It would be interesting to know what the date codes are. Please share photos of it once it arrives. Certainly, an interesting example to add to the collection.

Here's what came in the mail today:
It's a late '80s PST with one feature I've never seen before. See the photo of two tools side-by-side and note that one is marked "US REG TM" as expected while the other is marked "US REG MT", in error, I presume. All the other photos are of the mis-marked tool. FYI, this tool has no date codes. Does anyone else have a similarly marked PST? T-A

I took a look at your photos you linked. You got a really good tool there given age and condition. I see now what you mean with the trade mark stamp. Very unique tool with interesting history to it. Must have been stamped on a Friday for a three day weekend.

It's a 1990ish tool. I have many of the older versions with the drop point blade, inch only ruler, no lanyard ring, and the left-handed cut can opener, but this one, being what I believe is a factory error, certainly has a place in my collection. Thanks for responding to my post. Do you collect Leathermans? T-A
