Crow is never good to eat, so I have a bottle of Tabasco and a shaker of salt. I have some Crow to eat along with making a public apology to Jerry Busse, Spark, Mike Turber, James Mattis, Bob Allman, Stompy, and David Williams, and whoever else may have been offended by my post defending Pookie in the thread "Pookie, I remember Pookie!" I came to the defense of this poster not knowing all the facts. That is not an excuse, I am responsible for knowing the facts before I post. I hadnt read the locked thread "Battle Misstress" at that time I made the post and wasnt aware of what was taking place. I see so many threads on Jerry's knives that I tend to ignore most of the threads as I dont have time anymore to keep up with everything, and most are repetitive. I am not making excuses here, merely stating facts that I was aware of at this point. All folks mentioned above expect a personal e-mail from me with an apology.

So here is my promise from this point forward. I will only post about knives, performance, technology, etc. I hope you can all except my apology, especially Jerry, and we can put this behind us and get back on subject, namely knives! I have learned a great deal from this and I hope everyone else that has read this has learned something too. I have learned, dont let your Alligator mouth overload your Parrakeet a$$. And in my defense, I hope you have learned about me that if you are a freind, I will back you till my skinny little ribs cave in! Thats all I have to say for now. Thank you for listening! Rob

Rob,

Your actions are reflective of the fine gentleman that you are. Let's talk knives!

Your friend,

Jerry Busse

Geez, Rob
I do not have the faintest idea what you did that was wrong.
But, for Goshsakes, dont stop making honest posts......we will put up with the bummers.
Damnit....I have been getting away with quite a few, lately.

No....really : better an occasional blooper than a whole forum full of meaningless pap.

My respect for you has just gone up a notch Rob. If you're a big enough person to defend a position, you should also be big enough to admit when you're wrong. It's clear that you're both.

Regards -- Shades

A little crow with humble pie for dessert! I've had this meal a few times. It's always good to wash it down with a little forgiveness. That always helps.

You've done well Rob.

Back to knives!

Hold your head up, buddy. I'd stand shoulder to shoulder with you any day.

Rob:
I don't know the facts of this apology but your actions are commendable. This is the very reason I start many of my posts with "Gentlemen", you sir are deserving of this title.
P.S. I have several good recipies for crow too.

Geez Rob, seems like everthing I hear about you is true! Okay, I am adding you to the short list of gentlemen knifemakers that I will buy from (as soon as my wallet fattens up) and recommend. You sir, are a true gentleman! Seems to ge with being a Talonite Master! Besides, Bob (Bald1) thinks you are okay, that is good enough for me!

Rob,

As I've indicated previously, I've always found you very good to deal with. That is part of the reason I have three knives on order with you!

In reading all of the Battle Mistress subject and all of the I know Pookie subject, in my opinion, I don't think you did anything too wrong.

I don't know this Pookie person. Maybe she is a good person; maybe she is not. I get sad when things get very hostile over a forum. Things like this should be handled over personal email or over the telephone.

There have been a lot of complaints about Busse Knives customer service. But, it seems as though Jerry is making serious efforts to correct this situation. I hope he succeeds. It seems to me that his custom line is really good.

I've learned something valuable for myself over this whole situation. I try to be polite on-line but I realized sometimes I get too silly. I'll have to be more careful about that.

Everything said about Rob is true!! I am just thankful I decided to contact Rob & now have 4 knives on order plus one at home. He is an incredible knifemaker & great human being - I am looking forward to the day I can meet him in person. I have made about 15 changes to the knives I ordered & he has shown wonderful patience in helping me get exactly what I want. Rob, I want to thank you publicly for putting up with me calling you day after day with changes - I don't plan on any more now!!!(haha). Plus the wood is on the way - you should get it tomorrow or Friday.

Bill

The "Real" Pookie has contacted me and measures have been taken to make sure it does not happen again.

New rule for the forum... No one can use the name "Pookie" or anything which even remotely sounds like it

Why? It is the pet name I use for my daughter and I sure don't won't to see it used in a bad way

Whoops, and sorry about your daughter, Mike, but she has shown signs of cleptomania...

WOW! There are two cute Pookies in this land? My Pookie (Keely) is now 12 weeks old! Man, time flies! Mike, I hope you make an exception to that when they (the Pookies) are older and want to log in.

Mr. Simonich,

You are a true gentleman. But no apology was necessary. I was composing one myself to you and thought I better cool off first before I posted so I could think clearly. I apologize for the antagonistic attitude I displayed earlier. I apologize for perpetuating issues that should be dropped.

I hope you don't restrict yourself to just knife talk because there are some personalities on this board. You have shown yourself to be a great personality. I like to know the person behind the knife also.

Your post defending Pookie made me look at all of the posts. I assumed wrong in thinking they were all negative. Pookie made some great posts about you and your knives. Pass the crow

Rob,

I see no need for an apology. Please keep posting.

Re. Busse,

I have complained about his customer service a number of times on this forum. But, I am very please to tell you that I have noticed a dramatic improvement over the course of last week. Hats off to Jerry for his prompt response on this situation; and best wishes on his continued success.

Rob,

To quote another forumite and friend, Gene Sederholm, "Don't ya just love this place?!?"

I keep tellin' folks yer a class act hidden under a Resistol in black
smile.gif
! Seriously, it has become harder and harder to keep up with everything here. We've all misqued at one time or another and given the number of posts I've made I venture I've stepped on it more often than most others
smile.gif
!

But what strikes me most is not your apology, which for me was unnecessary because I know you, your good heart, and intentions. But the fact that in the last year the folks here at BFC have demonstrated a level of honesty, politeness, and sincerity unmatched anywhere on the 'Net. You have simply helped perpetuate our collective reputation for being folks of good heart. I know, without reservation, that Jerry Busse has grasped this as part of the community spirit here. And being the great folks we all are, water is allowed to pass under the bridge without further recriminations.

Jerry,

I'm glad to see you here although I understand you to have limited time to give us. From my knothole, although impressions may initially lead you to conclude otherwise, this is a great harbinger of things to come. Sal Glesser joined the fray here under a cloud of criticism about his firm's pricing policies. He and the forumites turned that oipening into an extremely productive series of dialogues which continue in the Spyderco forum. The troll's posts did bring you here so I choose to look at the positive side. Don't be a stranger
smile.gif
! Lots of folks here are interested in you, your company, your steel and of course your blades. I look forward to seeing your continued, and hopefully expanded, participation!
