Hi guys - - - My state (Washington) has some rather vague knife laws. I've done my research & where I'm now located (not a big city - and not in Seattle) - - it seems that I can carry a fixed blade knife. It just can't be concealed. So for me that means belt sheath carry.
I would appreciate your suggestions on a good 'public friendly' fixed blade knife. I want it to be a traditional that comes with a decent leather sheath. Natural handle materials of wood or such. The goal is to not look 'tacti-cool' in any way - I don't want the knife to have a 'weapon' look. No finger guard is greatly preferred. 'Modest' in proportions. I'm not looking to carry a huge Bowie knife. This knife will be used for general tasks - from cutting an apple, to cutting open my mail, cardboard boxes, etc. I have other heavier knives (some customs) for outdoors use and hunting tasks. On this particular knife I'm willing to spend up to around $100-125. Less than this is also fine.
The knife I now own which best fits these requirements is a Grohmann #1 in stainless. But, I'd like to hear your suggestions on what other knives could fit this 'friendly traditional fixed blade' role. Thanks !
