Public Service Announcement Regarding Dave's Stupid Videos

My name is Dave. I occasionally make foolish videos involving cutting, chopping, and otherwise maiming things, and I've made many more in the past.

With that out of the way, every so often I receive emails asking for a specific video ("What does this red 'X' mean?") or picture that's been long since removed. Allow me to explain the situation here, once and for all.

My ISP, Wave Cable, is a pretty good one as far as ISP's go but they have rules. One of those rules is that I limit the amount of junk attributed to my account to under 10 megs. Unreasonable? Not really. The service is good, they're helpful when I have problems, and they've never once hassled me about bandwidth usage. (And there have been times where I was surprised by this.) By and large I have no complaints with them but the 10 megapopsicle thing is certainly a limiting factor with regards to what I have posted and how long it can remain there. It's just something that I have to deal with. The result is that I can only leave something up for so long, then it must be removed in order to make room for something else.

Fortunately, I have friends in low places and one of them is blessed with more web space and bandwidth than he will ever be able to use. Recognizing a parasitic loss like myself for what I am, he graciously offered me some space. Henceforth, all of my garbage will be posted in one central location. Here is the link:

Dave's Foolish Videos

Most (but not all) of it is related to khukuris, swords, and chopping stuff up. My ultimate goal is to shift the majority of my accumulated junk here to make things easier. As time progresses and my past misdeeds are brought to my attention those broken links will be repaired. There's not much there at present but the content will increase as time goes by and I get around to it.

What this means for you: all of my wasted bytes will be available whenever one would want to pollute their monitor with them.

What this means to me: I don't want any more emails asking me about where they went. :)

Standard rules apply. If you want to use one of these for whatever reason (God knows why) be sure to mention who made them. If there's something in particular that you want to see - and assuming that I have the equipment and it's within my abilities - email me and I'll see what I can do.

To be honest, most of the earlier stuff (and some of the later stuff) is quite embarrassing. Don't expect to see it again. I reserve the right to stroke my ego. ;)

This could be the start of the next Lion's Gate Film production company....

The rope was the hardest. The six pack gave me the most satisfaction. The laptop was the most fun. The Hasiya gets the most done.

YMMV. I still tidy up the grounds with the Hasiya. It gets used more than most of my khuks. (Please don't tell anyone that it's essentially a woman's tool. I have a reputation to uphold here.)

I'll get some sword foolishness up there tomorrow or Tuesday.

Dave,
FWIW, Halloween is almost here. Come November 1, the local farmers' markets usually have tons (literally) of left-over pumpkins that they are anxious to get rid of at a fraction of the pre-Jack-O'Lantern price, Pumpkins make great slicing fodder, especially for longer blades.
Will never forget the look on the face of SWMBO as she casually asked: "Why are there a dozen pumpkins stacked up in your study?"

I think we need independent varification that this is the "real" Dave.

I mean, there has been some confusion lately.

Hey, where did the link go for that knife chopping thing? I forget the name of it but you know the one I'm talking about. :)

Yea, Bruise are you talking about the one where the old rattan chair was chopped up? :D

NP on the hosting man, now you just need to make the site look like a real one instead of a file manager window.

I still crack up when I see the laptop video. I like the look of the index screen. Looks like something left over from the beginning of the Internet. :D  I got it bookmarked, fer sure. :D

Glad you have an archive now. I love the hell out of all your videos. Always seemed to me that Uncle Bill was especially proud of the fact that the khukuris he sold were useful tools and the vids show it

I'm not sure that destroying laptops is a valid demonstration of a tool's worthiness in the field, HD, but I'll state for the record that it's remarkably therapeutic. Everyone owes it to themselves to violently destroy a computer at least once.

That's the one, Andrew. That's what they look like when fired indoors with the lights out.

I'm told that it was very loud. Honestly, I was too nervous to notice. Outside they're not so bad.

not something you would want to shoot with a sniper looking at your lines. The flash was so bright at first I thought the M28 was that grenade launcher jobbie that you fire from under an M16 :)

I enjoyed downloading a few of your movies. I thought the 6 can slice was really impressive, and the watermelon slice... and the water bottle chippy chop. Not sure about the laptop though... poor laptop, poor kuk, what would the makers think of it :( Trimming the grass with your little razor knife made me laugh as I have done it myself.
