PUBLIC SERVICE: Shipping Charges Database

Hey everybody, I got an idea!

Sometimes I gotta price-shop for a production knife so I go visit every online knife shop I have bookmarked (10 or so) to see what their price is on something. Anyone else do this?

Problem is that there is a BIG margin of what different places charge to ship ONE knife so I gotta figure that in too. It runs from $3.50 to about $7.00. They kinda level out once you get a big order going. (Am I just too cheap? Should I just go away and cry? )

I was kinda thinking of making a list for myself of all the dealers' shipping charges and maybe sharing it with everyone. (basic shipping - one knife)

Anyone interested in a list like this? Let me know.

When you vote, include the website of a dealer you're afraid might not be on my list and I'll include it if it's not.

Don't wait for 15 responses ! Slap that baby together and publish it on the forum for all to read, heed and benefit.

Also, if you don't think that the shipping charges that you're paying for are rightous. . .contact the dealer/seller and ask for the mode of shipment and why they charge what they do.

Got a knife from them and they charged LESS
then it COST to ship the knife, By about a buck.

All right! I've gotten 10 replys to the poll and already TWO people told me to whore myself out!:grumpy:
Crap! 20% of people think I should be a hooker to support my knife habit. That's not very nice. I thought knife people stuck together and were such civilized people!

(On the other hand, I think the scarcasm is thicker and the smartasses are more abundant here than anyplace else on the web! )

P.S. Anyone know where a guy in Denver can find a good pimp?

if it's at all possible, I think there are a fair number BF members who don't reside in the US. we're interested in shipping options and prices too. I'm based in Singapore. any chance you could factor that it!

It'd be interesting and a useful reference for many BF members. I look through so many online stores that I always forget which one had the lowest shipping prices.
