I have recently been toying with picking up the Police Utility model....has it been discontinued....seems hard to find? Anybody know who might have it in stock for a decent price? Would you recommend or not recommend for a fixed blade?.....I have a couple EKI folders that I really love and thought I might check out the fixed blade. Currently have RAT Cutlery fixed blades to fill the gap as far as a utility blade goes, but thought I would check out the Emersons just because.
Are they worth the money.....recommendations or experiences?
Thanks in advance for the feedback,
JT

LOL.....Yea, a Busse was a close second on my list. Great advise, but not too practical at this point in time.....unless you know of somebody that wants to make me a smok'in deal :D

they seem hard to find, though i saw one on ebay abit ago. Busse's are super tough from what I've heard, but Scrap Yard knives are cheaper than Busse's and almost as tough.

The PUK is a nice knife, I had one of the older ones and it was a good functional knife. I presume the newer ones are just as good.

INFI is always a good choice though, but the price difference is obviously a big one.

PUKs are ok, i have never been a big fan of it though, nothing wrong with it but just not a fav of mine, in fact, other than some recent stuff, have never been a big fan of emerson fixed blades, custom or production, some of the recent stuff i do like though like the USN dagger.

Thank you all for your input. I was looking for a satin plain edge version, but am finding that the few places that still have one or two in stock only have the black serrated version left. Maybe I'll wait awhile for another run (if not discontinued)....gives me a bit more time to think about it.;)

love my PUK. Its a no nonsense, no frill, hard use blade. It has seen bushcraft use (oh no, a tactial knife being used for bushcraft! oh the horror!), rescue use (seatbelts and smashing a window), daily EDC use etc etc etc.

good solid knife
