I have poked around and do not see anything commercially produced to satisfy my interest. It seems like a hatchet or hawk sides Pulaski would be an ideal foraging tool? Maybe a spike hawk with a flattened mattox shape vs spike. I would prefer it in a hatchet style that can do light splitting better than a hawk.

Does anyone know of someone who is making something similar OR would be willing to mill a hatchet head to accept a welded in add on for digging?

Thanks,
Bill

it’s a carving adze not a digging hoe

Only in name. If you call it a digging adze it becomes one 🤔

Yes it'll have a harder edge but there's no reason you can't dig with it if it fits the bill, I don't see it having a hard life "foraging" as L lmalterna requested.

How many old carpenter's & ship's adzes have been used to dig ground by folks who don't know better?

Ask FortyTwoBlades FortyTwoBlades he's on here & this is one of his.
I think he meant to link the "Hazelnut Hoe" model, not the hatchet adze.

I'm out at the moment but as luck would have it a few should be landing in a few days.

Yes, that’s more appropriate for digging! The adze is more open and it will be easier to dig with.

Do you have those in stock, Ben?
