This is my first post and I am using it to ask a question. I'm thinking about buying a GEC 66 and was hoping someone could tell me; If the model 68 has a pull weight rated as a 4 and model 15 has a pull weight rated as a 5 ,what would be the rating of the 66? I already have the models 68 and 15. thank you for your help.

I have a couple 68's, and three 15's, but only one 66. Based on my 66 I'd give it a 5 - same as the 15's. I'm sure others will chime in with more info based on their own experiences - which may be different from mine.

Welcome to BF's!

It's not heavy but it's not weak either, no GEC (yet) has that! Moderate and very credible is what I call it, 5.5 in other words.

I'm with the concensus above, really like my 66 Serpentine Jack :)

The 66 is a fantastic knife, I totally agree with what the other guys are saying, its a nice medium - GEC nailed this knife you just wont and cant go wrong with it!

I know you do and a lot of us do too. Thanks everybody for the info. I have weak fingernails and learned the hard way that I can't just buy anything I want. I think I'll be O.K. Thanks again everybody.

I love the GEC 66 pattern! I have 3 total, 2 Calf Ropers and a Serpentine Jack. I would say the pull is very similar to my 15 Boys Knife. If you are happy with your Boys Knife you will like the 66 Pattern pull as well. I have pretty weak finger nails also and can't handle a super strong pull without bending my nail backwards which is a horrible feeling about like nails on a chalk board lol. Another pattern to try out that I love about as much as my 66 patterns is the 76 Outlaw Jacks. I have 2 of them and they have a pull much the same as the 66 or 15 pattern.

OP don't forget that GEC offers a number of EZ-Open patterns, a pinch opener might be useful for you too.

All of my 66s pull about 5/6 ... Calf Ropers, and BJMs. Not sure about the 66 Jacks or 66 Minks but have to believe they are similar. You just can't go wrong with the 66 ... handy size, rides well in the pocket, not to heavy, and a solid medium size. Plenty of patterns to choose from.
