I can't wait to get that Sexy Beast! Should have it by next WED. or Thur. I went with the serrated for the fact that this knife in particular will be my SHTF, get outa Hell knife. I figured for that purpose, serrations were in order! :D
 
Congrats bro, Thats going to be on badass blade! I like the serrations on these knives as well! Hope you enjoy it. Be sure to post up pics once it arrives :)

Thanks. I will. Yeah, I hear the serrations are pretty easy to sharpen as well. That's one of the other reasons I decided on them. If I would have heard the opposite about them, I wouldn't have bothered. I'm still working on my sharpening skills:o
 
Yeah i hear ya on that. But RATs being as nice as they are hopefully you wont have to sharpen it too much! ;)
 
I have been considering getting the 5 as my SHTF knife, and as such was contemplating getting the serrations as well. In a longer term survival type setting, I think serrations might be a blessing to have.

I'd love to have more opinions on that idea...

Then again, if I have advance notice, I will also have my 6 clip point, 3-mil, izzy and hest with me as well :D

Of course I could just get both...
 
Worst case scenario, I think I would have the 5, and maybe my ZT folder for the small stuff. Or my 3, or my HEST......Oh Hell, whatever I could manage to carry ;-)
 
Talk to TTD and see if he has any space shuttle hulls that you can baton your way out of.

congrats, the 5 is a great looking knife. wish there was a dealer close by so i could handle one. i have average hands, wondering how it feels in hand before i could ever buy one.
 
Congrats on the score! I just got a 4 with Serrations and love it so far! My Izula is OD green and the color rocks! You will love it :)
 
It's a seriously stout knife to be sure. I like the serrations. If you're going to keep it as a SHTF knife, having it be as versatile as possible is the right answer. My 5 has serrations too.

Have fun with that 5. You are going to flip out when you get in your hand and feel it for the first time. Tough to describe. Looking forward to your thoughts and of course photos of the new baby.

Yeah, I hear she's BEEFY! Funny thing is, when I see one on a Youtube review, I tend to think it looks smaller then I expect it should. Must just be camera angles.
 
I just got my first 5 in the mail today and I was very very surprised at how beastly of a knife it is. I keep going back downstairs and looking at it every half hour or so cause it's just so cool. Congrats - you're gonna love it!

Love the O.D color. Rattles a little in the sheath, but I have a heat gun and will take care of that. Thanks to Jeff, and ESEE for a great blade!
