Pulled the trigger on the S90V

Well I may not make my truck payment this month, but I bought my first Military. I have many Spydercos, and I have wanted the Military for a very long time. After reading and studying and looking and wishing I said "to heck with it, you only live once". I bought the Military in S90V. I bet this thing is a cutting MACHINE!!! S90V in a FFG, in what many believe to be the ultimate Spyderco flagship knife. If I like the smurf handles, which I probably will, blue is my favorite color, I will keep them. If I don't, I figure I can buy another Military in the handle color I want and swap them out. Then I could sell that one off and recover my money. I usually feel a bit guilty when I spend almost $300.00 on a knife, but know I'm just excited. I now have a Manix 2 Sprint in M4, a Para Sprint in FDE and S35VN, and a Military in S90V. Anderson, will you reassure me about the S90V please ?? I think for PURE CUTTING, it's near your top no?

Do you mean Ankerson? Or is there an Anderson?

Congrats on the sweet score! I would love to have one. Where did you find it?

Nice score Vegas,

I carry an early one when I'm cutting wood. I use it to mark the cuts.

It's certainly one of the tops for edge retention.

My apologies, my auto correct decided to step in for me. I meant Ankerson. Oops.

Mr. Glesser, that speaks volumes about the knife if the owner carries one! Thank you very much Sir. It is also amazing that a person can make a post, and have the company owner reply to it. That means a great deal. :-)

L2Bravo, I'm not sure if I'm able to say, I don't want to break any forum rules. I will P.M. you.

Congrats on your new toy (er..tool); I am glad at least additional 3 other people love this combo. The smurf S90V millie has one of my favorite EDCs (I carry 2 at all times-1 big/1 small for the sheeple). I plan to get another once my wallet recovers ("pre-need replacement"). Hopefully shiny footsteps remain in this thread.

By that, you probably mean no contrary opinions to yours. :p

S90V is an excellent steel, one of my favorites and most used steels. :)

It holds an edge for a very long time and it's an aggressive cutter.

Ankerson, thanks for the reply. I have been carrying and loving this thing all week, I love it. I have never felt anything like S90V. I don't mean to sound cliché, but the steel "feels" different. I was and am a HUGE fan of CPM M4, but this steel seems almost magic. I know, I know, it's steel, I get it, but it cuts different. Perhaps it's the 9% Vanadium in it. I used it to cut an aluminum can in half last night to make a little drinking cup for my dog. Didn't even phase the edge. It will push cut newspaper after the brown stones on my Sharp Maker. I am running this steel "toothier" than my others. I usually go to the Spyderco UF whites, then strop. The S90V feels awesome with more "bite".

Congrats, it is a great piece indeed! Absolutely love mine, I can't imagine you won't. And the blue is fantastic, at least in my opinion.
