and ordered a plain Jane Sebenza 21 today. This is by far my most expensive knife related purchase, ever. Tell me I'm not crazy and that I will love this knife.:p

You won't regret it my friend. It'll probably be the first of several. CRK is awesome!

Deep in your heart, you know.

Enjoy the wait, and relish these last days as a non-Sebenzaholic, along with this photo of mine (classic, not 21).

I bought my first CRK (Zaan) from BBQ BOY just 1.5 months ago. Since then, I've added the Large 21 Micarta and just ordered the Small Insingo today...start saving up b/c it will not be the last.

And, of course, you are required to post pix once you have it!

It's in the rules, trust me!

I started with a large classic, three and a half years ago.
In the time since there has been a 'Zaan, and a Shadow IV, and there's probably a Mnandi in my future.

It's unfortunate that CRK knives are so hyped sometimes, because it's not like they're head and shoulders above every other knife that exists or ever will exist - that would be DarkOps knives :jerkit: - rather the reason so many people enjoy them is because the craftsmanship is something to be desired in and of itself. A highly functional knife does not always require precise, meticulous craftsmanship to be so highly functional. But CRK makes all those extra touches so sensible, and so easy to enjoy, that well...why not have them?

The price point is a reasonable cause for pause, but it's entirely justifiable within the context of what you're buying; not just a knife but an artifact, immaculate beyond practicality, that you don't just use, but enjoy using, for years to come.

My father has his BMW, I have my Umnumzaan.

You will not be disappointed.

I have a small plain Classic that I bought about 3 years ago. The fit and finish is about perfect. These things are remarkably precise. Lock up is perfect. Enjoy.

I just bought my 21 a few weeks ago. It's a lot of money for a knife, but I haven't regretted it at all. It's an awesome blade and I'm sure you'll love it.
Congrats.

Congratulations on taking the plunge! My only regret is that I found out about this brand after so many years on the market. Note that you might be a little underwhelmed initially, but after you've handled and carried a Sebenza for awhile you'll realize just how amazing these little jewels of engineering really are. I don't predict that your knife quest will end with a Seb, but you will start comparing every other knife you hold to this one eventually.

Congrats. I can tell you that you will love it. However, I can't tell you that you are not crazy, becase as a knife knut I am not objective on such matters

You are not crazy an you will love this knife.
;)
You sure need the large one a while later.

While I own both sizes I use the small the most.
When hicking I prefer the large - in the office it's the small.

all the best

Dang... you guys have triggered my drool reflex. I have been really good this year, so maybe there's a 21 in my future. Besides, the titanium would match the new hip I anticipate getting some time next year.

I say go for it! Any reason to buy a Sebenza is a good reason.

Well worth the money. I have no regrets and have 3 CRK in my line up - Zaan, Lg Sebbie and Nyala.
