I need to do it before the Mistresses come up, tomorrow is the day. I'm very excited but I was hoping ya'll could help me with some pictures of some different handle configurations. I am most interested in the G10 Mag variations. Also, how does it stand up for a fixed EDC (anybody using it as their general purpose?)? I usually like smaller knives for skinning but it looks like it would be very articulate and still manageable. Thanks in advance!!! :D

Check this thread...

TB Color Combos... Lots of Them!! It is a sticky thread with pix Jerry posted.

As for size, it may be a bit large for a true EDC to me personally, but I'm in the 'burbs of Philly, PA. where, although there is no size limit on fixed blade open carry, this would scare the 'sheeple' somewhat. I do like its size though.

In hand pix of both TB LEs, Type I and Type II.

Alright, I actually have another question. What is the difference(s) between Standard size handles and Mags? Mags are larger I presume, while standard are a bit smaller. I've heard complaints about some handles, but I think it's more about the difference in each persons hand rather than the handles that it comes down to. I've got larger hands, so I presume Mags potentially the right choice. Am I on track or have I got it all wrong?

Yes, it comes down to what feels better for the user. I can say that I have medium palms and med. to long fingers, and generally, I prefer the magnums on the TAC style handles (which is what the TB's have). The Magnum scales on the TAC handles aren't that much thicker, mostly they have a bit of a palm swell, and are a bit thicker at the top and bottom of the scales (same thickness as the palm swell) with 'valleys' (for lack of a better term) in between which are usually as thick as the standard scale thickness. The standards are the same thickness evenly across the whole scale. Length & width of the handle scales are the same as the standards, only the thickness varies as described above. Man, I hope that I haven't confused you! ...It's late here. :)

Jaxx, that is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you!!!

You're totally welcome! The TB is a sweet knife, I think you'll really like it.

So do the mags work better on smaller hands and standard on larger hands? Or do I have it in reverse? Logic seems to predicate Mags being better on smaller hands then. They fill in the gaps better. SO as a large handed individual I might be better off with standard?

It really is a tough call to make without seeing your hands holding a comparable knife, or you handling the knife personally.
There's only one logical solution... ;) Buy one of each handle size, keep the one you feel fits better, sell the other. :D

Alright you sly dog! I may do just that (however, I can say I have large hands with really thick fingers(all bone really)). Change up some other options while I'm at it. Either way I'm picking up at LEAST 1 of them. Anybody else with User TB's I'd love to hear how well they're working as your fixed EDC!!!

Here's another option... IF as long as you won't hold me responsible, LOL!

If you get the mags, there is the possibility of sanding down the handles if the fit needs improvement. You can't add to standard handles however. :)

Just a suggestion!

Great knife to purchase for a general purpose knife.
I always go with mag handles. there are very few knives that standard handles feel good to me. here is my first order of TBs. for a comparision shot of other Busses as well

still haven't decided on the choil or not. I like being able to come up on the blade for tedious work with the choil, but then the other gives a bit more chopping room... so many choices.. so much money! :-)
