So as my collection has continued to grow ever so slowly, I've begun to take notice of the small things that changed through the years of production. My favorite pattern is the stockman hands down. When I started collecting I wanted to get a representative sample of as many as I could just to have one. Now I find myself looking at tang stamps, pulls, bolsters, differences in the color of the staglon, delrin, bone etc.
My question tonight is regarding the pulls. I've noticed that on my SW 8OT it has a matchstrike pull with very pointed "teeth" and I've seen through your collections that the matchstrikes seemed to vary from that on the same model. I've also noticed that at what I assume to be the earlier end of the production that the 108OT/ 808 had a long pull that was later changed to a nail nick. I haven't found any variation on the 34OT or its cousins, all have a nail nick on the clip blade. Also, I've yet to see an example of an SW 885UH with a matchstrike pull. I guess where I'm going with this is, was there any rhyme or reason to when and how the pulls on the various models changed through the years. Thanks in advance as always!
