I have a couple Pulsar Tech Gear Diver Solar 4000's, good solid watches, they're Quartz movements and since they charge via Solar energy (any light source, open sun is the most effective) they shouldn't need regular battery changes, eventually the solar rechargable will have to be replaced, but not as often as a standard watch battery
the quartz movement typically is less than 2 seconds fast per week, remarkably accurate
that said, i'm now more into automatic mechanical watches, i have a Seiko 5, and a Seiko Orange Monster dive watch, i don't like the Pulsars anymore, there's nothing wrong with them, they're good, solid watches, i just like automatics better....
if all you're looking for is something to tell the time and be relatively maintenance free, a Pulsar Quartz watch should be just fine, they've got Seiko quality without the name recognition of Seiko
their warranty is also a lot better, 3 years "bumper to bumper", everything's covered, the movement, the dial, the case, the crystal, the bracelet, everything, Seiko's 3 year warranty is on the movement only
