PUMA 260 lock blade info

A German

A Puma lock blade has come into my posession. I'd like to get some info, i.e. time / location of manufacture, is it a valued item, etc. It has inscribed on the blade "PUMA 260 stainless germany", and on the lock lever " 45874". I have included links to photos. I appreciate any info here.

i believe the numbers on the lock lever will give year & quarter of year of production. we have some savvy puma people & if you do'nt get answered here go to levines section.

Hi James. yor knife was made in 1978. fourth qtr of the year. 260 is the model .

I also have a model 260 with numbers 45874 on the lock lever but mine has checkered black plastic removable handles.
 
Mine looks like the handle was checkered but the checkers have mostly worn down to be smooth. Can't really tell if they're plastic, if not they're some kind of hard wood. Anyone have a clue what this knife is worth, roughly speaking?
 
Hi folks, I 'm new here. I pretty much just signed up to get some info on my Puma 260. But it looks like a pretty cool forum and I do like the idea of collecting knives. :D

I have figured out the dating chart and mine was made in the first quarter of 1984. I've had it since about mid '86 and used to carry it everywhere, it's been a handy tool over the years...especially for carving my name in seats and logs.
