Purchased in December 2010 a Puma Bowie model no 116396. Stag horn grip, Beautifull sheath, and what appears an aluminum tang on the knife.
Besides made in Germany, handmade there is only one reference to the steel used and that is 0,9/RC
That I assume is The hardness index? Not sure how it relates to the Rockwell standard.
On old threads of this knife it often was stated that 4.116 steel similar to 440A was used in newer models post 2000, and way back Pumaster steel.
Going online I recently noticed that they are using 440 C.
How am I going to find out what steel mine purchased in 2010 was made of. Anyone knows?
Thank you for your time.
